lol
ive always thought that... the first time I came here I actually thought it WAS the spitfire logo, but never really paid much attention to it.

EDIT: This is a better pic than the ones you linked to...
spitfire1%5B1%5D.gif

They are pretty similar... But I like WF more than spitfire, so its fine with me. :)
Maybe Jon can chime in on this one? (Please don't kill me Jon!) lol

EDIT #2: The few logos I HAVE designed, I usually get influence from other logos... Ideas... But I just don't do a direct copy. This is a BIG part of the underground clothing movement in the southwestern united states (Skin, 187 Inc., Metal Mulisha, All No Fear acquired brands, and dozens upon dozens of others...)... They all take ideas from eachother. Really, there must be 2 dozen brands that have an AR15 or Brass Knuckles in more than one of their designs... lol (Shit, Ive even designed shirts myself that have both!!! ((mine are better! haha)) )

I wouldn't call it "ripped" but "Inspired" from spitfire. Did you see their are other good logos out their for you to "rip" ermm.... i mean to get inspired from. :)

as a designer i can tell you that rarely we create something new. it's just things we saw that we re-elaborate in our subconscious coming out with our version on it. it's not copy, you don't even realize this process, it just happen. a lot of time i design something and after a little bit i remember where i saw the "inspiration" so i feel back and i have to start all over again.

I'm not sure if the original designer used it as an inspiration, but when I gave my instructions during that contest on SitePoint, I'm pretty sure I didn't mention Spitfire. On top of which, after the logo was made, accepted, and rights transfered to us, we had it Trademarked as well, just to stay on the safe side.
