So far the 3 of us that are reporting here are all coming up in the bottom left green square. We share space with Gandhi and Nelson Mandela. But very few political candidates or parties. Here is mine:

That one got me too... not sure 100%, but I agreed as it seems to make sense.

Just searched for it:

From each according to his ability, to each according to his need - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"...every person shall produce to the best of their ability in accordance with their talent, and each person shall receive the fruits of this production in accordance with their need, irrespective of what they have produced."

A Karl Marx quote. I'm sure knowing that would affect some people's choice there... Communism is bad n'kay.

It also seems to be mentioned in the Bible.... oh no!

I'm guessing that almost all of us here will be in the bottom half, but spread across from left to right.

I'd also be willing to bet that it's the guys in the top half that are benefiting from emphasising the differences between left and right rather than between authoritarian and libertarian.

lol

bible, communism, bible, communism... that would be enough to keep the religious right awake at night!

I'm still working through the questions. I've been discussing them with my hubby (we went over the "each to his ability question" in great detail and we decided it was a socialist philosophy)

I'm going back and forth between the survey and wf. "All people have their rights, but it is better for all of us that different sorts of people should keep to their own kind." WTF? Keep to their own kind? Kind? You mean other than the human kind?

OK , I think that this was a left leaning biased survey ,"A genuine free market requires restrictions on the ability of predator multinationals to create monopolies" (perhaps something like "a free market should still have some regulations to prevent abuse" would have been better) So I would question the results. (this from a left leaning woman ;) )
Actually, looking at it a little more closely I would disagree (with myself, <--I do this all the time where I argue with myself and play my own devils advocate) It seems they just like to say really heavily cliched remarks, leaning both ways, "Abstract art that doesn't represent anything shouldn't be considered art at all." "Mothers may have careers, but their first duty is to be homemakers"

"Authority should be questioned" I had a proffessor in college, a VERY smart lady. She said, "ALWAYS question autority, ALWAYS. If you don't, you are just sheep." She would even berate people for NOT questioning her if she didn't provide ample evidence. I live by that. Here's the funny part. I want to raise my child like that (he's 5) but at the same time I don't want him questioning MY authority, heh.

OK, done (1hour later) here's me Political Compass Printable Graph

I'm a little sad. Last time I did this type of survey (about 4 years ago) I was closer to Ghandi. I can't believe I'm moving towards the right.

Did you see anything that represents the majority of the test takers? Just from the wf results, It certainly looks as if there is just a huge disconnect between the voters and the leaders.

I'm glad it's not just me that argues with myself!

I don't think we are representative of the majority of people really, the average internet marketer is likely to be more independent and free-thinking than the 9-5 work-ya-arse-off-for-someone-else sheeple.

I couldn't find any average results but did find an alternative version:

You should read Chomsky. He accurately described that such discontent exists throughout much of Europe as well as the United States. The Bush administration publicly reprimands any government (France, Spain) which dares to listen to their people (i.e. stay out of Iraq). The majority of European countries that have troops in Iraq have populations that are largely against the occupation, but their governments insist on staying solely to maintain their relationship with the United States.
Being the world's economic powerhouse certainly has its advantages.

It's communist. It goes against everything I believe in, by saying that certain people should work their butts off and other people can take take take and they should be ok with that. Because if other people "need" them to work and support them then it's somehow ok. It is what lifetime welfare receivers believe in.
