This morning I was traveling on the highway at around 4 am. I was simply trying to get in some early morning stunting. Throughout the last couple hours it had been raining quite a bit and water began to accumulate on the highway.

As I am driving in the fast lane at around 55 MPH, I end up hitting a gigantic pothole that was under a great bit of water. The instance my car hit that patch, all hell broke loose.

From that point my car made a 180% turn and crossed over the next two lanes before striking a light pole on my driver side door. During that impact, the side airbag was triggered and the glass on the driver's side shattered in my face. From that point the car angled itself just a bit and began flying down to the service road ass first. The car finally came to a stop as it pivoted itself above the guard rail.

Fortunately I have escaped without injury. I am feeling a bit sore in my left elbow, it could simply be because of the airbag spraining it somehow. I'll live.

As you can see, there are tire tracks in the grass from where I exited the highway. The service road is just behind me.

Glad you're alright. Is the car totaled? Dem insurance rates.

Good question, there is a high chance that it is not. While the damage looks ugly, all the pain was dealt on that driver side door. The engine bay was completely unharmed. The under carriage was well protected since there was a thick sheet of metal in between. I will obviously have to wait for the insurance adjuster to take a look and see what we have from there. What I can say is that once the car came to a stop, the engine was still purring away without a hiccup. I had no warnings on the dashboard at all. The tow truck driver was able to turn the steering wheel fine, and when the car was being pulled in on the flat bad, all four tires were rotating with ease. Honestly if I was on the ground with all fours, I believe I could have rolled that shit out there about a thousand lbs lighter.

Thanks for taking lots of pictures and posting them right away for our entertainment.

Srsly though, glad you are ok :)

Ugh, the feels, right in the feels. It hurts for me to see that damage, but good you're ok

Hmmm... looks like Audi didn't hold support. Prob too much PBR & bullishnish on NSU.DE like you were on TSLA.

Seems like another bad play. :evil_laughter:

This is why I drive like a 95 year old blind Asian woman anytime it's raining out. Hydroplaned on a highway once in a minivan as a kid, it did a full 360 degree turn (there was almost no traffic luckily) and we kept driving. Was sick as fuck but terrifying.

Good that you made it out ok.

I went through something similar a few years ago, except it was a girl that hydroplaned into the back of my car that caused the wreck. My GF and I landed perfectly on the shoulder, after rotating 180 degrees and skidding across 2 lanes. We were pretty much unscathed. The girl that hit me ended up flying off the road, hitting a tree and dying on the scene. That fucking sucked.

Moral, things could always be worse and wrecks suck.

Glad your ok. With that said how in the hell did you manage to spin out an all wheel drive car with probably 1000 electronic devices designed to keep you from spinning out?

Looks like that could have been a lot worse. Glad to hear you're ok.

I trust the fact that you're posting about your 4am accident, you didnt get any kind of ticket like an OWI? Did they make you blow?
