I fucking hate printers, always have... but since nothing better has been invented, I have no choice but to deal with them.

I'm currently using an Epson all-in-one bullshit printer that I bought for $99, and I'm about to throw it from the balcony, because of the following issues:

- Imaginary paper jam
- Ink dries up when not used for a while
- Cannot use the scanner if there is any type of problem with the printer (paper jam, ink cartridge issue, etc...). Good job Epson engineers!

What do you gay webmasters use?

Samsung SCX-6345n. Fast, durable, cheap toner, it fucking owns. Only black, but 25,000 pages on a £50 toner is superb. I've saved fuck loads on poxy ink.

^^^ this.

i had a deluxe model HP all in one... i needed to do a quick document scan, but it was so obsessed with its low level of yellow ink that it couldn't be bothered. dumpstered it.

HP Officejet Pro 276dw

Bought it after i almost trew my old epson out of the window.
Its been good for me up until now..

What do you use it for?? Anything special or just b&w pages? color photos?

Nothing special, just printing b&w docs, scanning occasionally.

The thing is I will not be using it 24/7... sometimes I won't print anything for 2 or 3 months. Will there be issues like the ink drying up inside?

I have a HP LaserJet 6L from 1998 that still runs today. I shit you not. It just refuses to die.

I know what you're talking about with the ink drying up. I bought all new cartridges a while back (5 total), printed the approximately 2 pages I needed to print, then didn't need to print anything for a few months... and when I went to print, the ink cartridges were totally empty. I was... upset.

That being said, I've discovered that laser printers are surprisingly cheap these days, and I'm guessing laser printer toner doesn't dry up like the ink in inkjet printers. Then again, I actually have no idea!

Laser Printers are ridiculously cheap, but I have no experience with them so I really have no idea what I'm getting into. Why is this one ([ame="http://www.amazon.com/Brother-HL-2270DW-Compact-Wireless-Networking/dp/B00450DVDY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370028613&sr=8-1&keywords=laser+printer"]Amazon.com: Brother HL-2270DW Compact Laser Printer with Wireless Networking and Duplex: Electronics[/ame]) so cheap for example? What's the catch?

Funny as hell. I had that same printer until just a couple years ago. Best printer I've ever owned.

My hate for printers left me as soon as I bought the HP6700 a few months ago. I love that thing now.
Took 8 minutes to set up my computers around the house and I can send an email to a custom HP email account and it prints the email and it's attachments to my printer.

HP7500A Wide Format wireless, print, fax, scan, doc feeder, etc. kick ass machine prints super nice up to 13x19. Snatched it for $179 on sale at Staples.

Where they fuck ya is on the ink, of course.

Printers only don't work when you need to print something very important or when you need to print quickly on the go.

Need to print your mother-in-law's vacation photos from 2003? Printer will work great.
