The Prophecy of the Popes, attributed to Saint Malachy, is a list of 112 short phrases in Latin.

They purport to describe each of the Roman Catholic popes (along with a few anti-popes), beginning with Pope Celestine II (elected in 1143) and concluding with current pope Benedict XVI's successor, a pope described in the prophecy as "Peter the Roman", whose pontificate will end in the destruction of the city of Rome.

where are you all getting that this guy is the replacement? I haven't seen any reports about that. If it's because of his name, the Regnal Name (Reign) and real name are different aren't they?

Oh yes, because we've seen all evidence laid out for the proof of god based oh this prophecy now have we? If you think what's been laid out is logic then I'm truly sorry for you.

Trust me man, I'd much rather live forever in a fairyland heaven than be erased after my death. I'd be the first to rejoice if there was ever any real proof of a god. But I don't believe in things just because they would make me happier.
 
So what? A black guy is going to become Pope, which is going to piss Jesus off, and he's going to destroy Rome because of it? Or what's happening now?

I don't bloody know. This religion stuff continues to allude me. Maybe I should be like that other guy, and go live in a fishes' mouth for 30 days.

Its not really because he is black. Its because his name is peter.
The last pope from Saint Malachys prophecy is called Peter the Roman. I am a hardcore skeptic but if he gets elected I may become catholic. Edit: also he has the nickname "Peter The Roman" in his native village.

Yes, because Peter was such a unique name during biblical times. It was as uncommon as Matthew and John.

And that's why they'll elect him.. for supposed 'hardcore skeptics' like you who will convert (lol). Basically for people are are atheist/agnostic but don't really know why they are.. or havent really thought much about anything.. and likely became atheist because it's cool, trendy, and pisses off parents.

No, just saying it was made by a catholic, fulfilled by future Catholics, and religion in general will profit from it. Also, joking about it. I mean are we really supposed to take all fucking vague assed prophecies seriously now? Oh ya, I know we are cause we're talking to religious people here.

Sorry but there are thousands of names and the fact it had to be peter is to much of a coincidence. But again I said if he gets elected then I believe it. If not its a load of shit.

No... it's like me saying "Mike the Great will be born in a cold climate, and sometime in the 2040s will find himself in a position of power. He is the anti-christ, so beware!"

Guaranteed, someone named Mike is going to end up in federal Canadian parliament sometime in the 2040s. That doesn't exactly make me someone who can see into the future, now does it?
