Is it just me or do the graphics look exactly the same as COD4 (released 5 years ago), wtf. "IW 4.0" they call it, but it's a heavily modified version of the Quake 3 arena engine, released in 1998. All that money and they won't improve their engine, though I guess there's no use since they've abandoned priority to PC gamers in favor of the larger console market PS3/X360, both of which having 5/6 yr old tech. /end rant.

I play cawadooty on the 360 'cause my friends are really into it and it's fun to dick around with them. Plus I love beating people who are MLG PRO XXXQUICKSCOPEZ360XXX when I hardly ever play.

P.S. Treyarch CoDs will be inferior as long as they're unable to figure out how to do hit detection properly. Shooting directly at someone and "missing" makes the game a total ragefest and no fun at all.

I hate the entire call of duty franchise. I'm a battlefield fan boy, but I gotta admit...

This game looks pretty cool. They are actually doing something a little different instead of sticking to same old rehashed shit.

Can't blame em, idiots be buying. Wasn't COD the biggest entertainment release EVER? Even beating out movies? I cbf to source it. Want to play a game that takes actual skill and is free?

QUAKE LIVE

That's all. Sad thing is, COD in 2012-2013 still has parts of Quake 3's code somewhere in it. And Quake 3 is still the better game. By far.

Ever hear of Battlefield 2142?

Was a poor release IMO.

The sci-fi elements could be fun. I'm imagining it will play like Fear/a less crazy Crysis 2 (which is pretty fun and underrated imo) in terms of perks. Crysis 2 was an extremely solid release and Crytek kept pretty much all of their promises (mod tools, textures, servers etc). Game still plays similar to the first one, very hit and run style gameplay. It's just slightly more linear, the areas are smaller, and it's a bit more vertical. I'm excited for Crysis 3 actually. Hopefully Crytek doesn't piss everyone off again.

yes, it was ok nothing special.

What I said doesn't mean that what black ops 2 is doing is original. Just saying its good to see they are stepping outside of the box a little bit instead of keeping the game in the same time period over and over again.

It's not as much fun on a mindless fun basis and it's hard to get into because Id isn't supporting the game like they should. The actual gameplay is fine, but there is still no matchmaking of any kind, and the servers aren't populated/branded enough to build any sort of regular community.

Last time I checked they had < 5 people working on the entire project. Kind of depressing really. Every new game mode they add just fragments the free/paid players and splits the paid players even more. The game is actually pretty cheap ($24-40 a year I think), but it's just hard to get into.

let's play QL

Wait, I'm confused, these graphics look like complete shit but I remember Black Ops having some good graphics. Never play CoD multiplayer but I always enjoy the missions.

I never even considered playing anything that was created after MW2. Anything post MW2 was a rushed cash funnel with not enough unique content to merit another purchase for a "mod".

yeah I couldn't get into QL, as it's basically Q3, and I was huge into Q2 (q2dm1 specifically, 1 map wonder). Pissed me off that Q3 took out all the cool skill jumps / double jumping etc.

Yep, it's pretty pathetic that all the major FPS's now make custom modding impossible.

Activision-Blizzard are getting more craptastic each release.

Blizzard in particular has went from a cutting edge gaming company who dominated with quality to a churn-em-burn-em poopfest of faster releases that lack full content coverage. Just a damned shame really, because I used to look up to blizzard as big bad-asses who defined an industry. I guess they did, but now they are just bleh and one hotshot, creative, newcomer (who will resemble the blizzard of old) is going to take a gigantic chunk of their market share soon. Then the cycle will repeat itself.

I actually thought Diablo 3 was pretty fun and considered buying it after trying the demo if I didn't already have other stuff to do. I had my doubts at first, but it's still Diablo, and it's still fun. Path of Exile isn't quite there, and while I'll be getting torchlight 2, I dont think it will be quite there either

I may be mistaken, but I'm almost certain diablo3 was halfway through development before the activision-blizzard merger took place, leaving this as their last, untainted, product.

It's like watching the most beautiful flower develop, grow, and bloom, and thousands of bees latch on to it and leave it as a steaming pile of shit. :disgust:
