Probably the best thing I ever purchased for my health. (Philips HR 1861)

The difference in energy and focus is incredible. It's better than jack3d!

So far I've juiced 10 carrots, 4 apples, oranges, a pear, a kiwi, spinach, some tomatoes, some berries, onions and garlic, and a potato.

Onions will make you hornier:
Onion juice triples testosterone levels

feelsgood

My roommate swears by juicing and it seems like pure awesomeness. However, would I not be able to get a similar level of nutrients from off the shelf 100% vegetable/fruit juice cocktails? They contain no preservatives and 8 ounces is a full serving of both fruit and veggies.

Juicing is where its at. Buy a Breville Elite. It is badass.

Here is my favorite:
2 parts Granny Smith + 2 parts Oranges (peel them!) + 1 part Peach = Nectar of Gods

once you start witha tart fruit base, you can throw any fucking veggie in there and it tastes fine. its a great way to get a shitload of micronutrients because you don't fill up on all the pulp, fiber, etc.

it makes you feel so good. i was going to post this in the ADD thread, but pill poppers aren't going to hear it.

start juicing immediately. i second this.

my juice doesn't sit in a hot warehouse for 3 months cooking in its BPA coated container.

and very few contain no preservatives/added sugar.

also, juicer is great for cutting down on waste. when shit starts browning a just juice that bitch. plus, i grow apples, oranges, peaches, limes, and grapefruit.

The fresher the better. Decomposition strips many items of their nutrition. With a juicer you can also get pulp (make soups, fiber etc).

I saw a Jack LaLane juicer on clearance at Target today but the reviews mostly say it is shit. Any advice on a good entry level brand? I read Hamilton Beach at Wal Mart is ok.

I had that Breville for a couple of months and realized I was throwing the bulk of all the fruits & veggies in the trash. Not getting the bulk of the fiber Ect. Swapped out to the Blend Tec and love it. Easy to clean, you get all the goodies and no waste + 1/8th the time. Just my 0.02

I'm not knocking the juicer, I loved juicing I'm just lazy and always in a hurry. Making up a good volume of juice every day + cleaning = a bowl of cereal for me after about a week. With the big bad blender I just throw a bunch of healthy stuff in there blend it up, drink it down, rinse. See ya!

I wanted a Jack Lalanne pro juicer at first but it isn't available locally here in India, and importing it costs nearly $800 so I got this Philips, which seems to be just as good and only about $200.

Get the Jack Lalanne if you can. I also recommend this:

Isn't the Blend Tec a blender and not a juicer? I've heard the same thing about Breville's but they seem to be the standard for juicers from what I've gathered.

Yes the blend-tec is a blender a bad ass blender! I used the crap out of that Breville and loved it then saw the blendtec and immediately bought one. Much better for me for all the reasons above.

I bought a juicer last week and the first day I made a fruit/vegetable potion. It had plums, peaches, apples, carrots, and some kiwis. I drank a tall glass and later at night it felt like I was high almost, my brain was floating, it was very cool.

Juicing FTW.

I've been juicing at least twice a day + 95% raw diet for the past month and let me tell you, you will never go back again once you start. You feel fucking amazing all day long.

You will feel so bomb at times you'll think you smoked something no joke. I still work a day job, and that's really the only negative thing I've experienced because I have so much extra energy now that I can't sit still at work.

Other than that you'll experience intense focus, better mood, better sleep, less sleep needed, fast weight loss, more brain power. No more dull/cloudy/groggy feeling in the middle of the day.

Edit: I had to edit my post when I saw Andrew's post above mine:

I get the exact same thing when I go to sleep at night. I drink one in the morning when i wake up and one in the afternoon and every night when I lay down, after I've had my eyes closed for less than a minute I experience the bed rocking/swaying/floating and weird noises as well. I'm pretty sure it's just sleep paralysis but it shows how quickly you'll be able to fall asleep once you start living healthier and only giving your body 100% natural foods.

+1 on the breville, I actually bought it before I watched fat sick and nearly dead.

just a tip. most of you prob wont like how pure veggies taste in a juice. you can add cilantro, ginger, peppers and/or tomato for some good flavors.

if you just like fruit, throw some kale in there(you wont taste it with the fruit, trust me). Kale is one of the best things you can put in your body. Kale is no joke.

Celery is pretty good too.

also another tip. hit farmers markets. I actually go to a flea market once a week and get buckets of bruised mango for $1. The only bitch is slicing them.

what recipes you got?

Just google raw food juice recipes. I prefer to keep it strictly greens though with just one fruit for the base.

Make sure you drink it right after you make it and don't try storing it for later.

What's everyone's juicing routine here? I know some people only do it like once a day, or 5 days out of the week then all solid food the weekend, etc. Do you use it as a meal replacement or how frequently do you juice?

I also prefer making "whole juice" and smoothies with my Blendtec over using a regular juicer.
