Terms like "peasant" are thrown around in this industry a lot. The money gets to people's heads. Myself included. Just the other day at the liquor store I was trying to buy some vodka, and this cashier girl was giving me a hard time because my signature did not exactly match my credit card, and she had that bitchy look on her face like she was accusing me of using a fake credit card or something. At that moment in my head, I was contemplating telling her to shut the fuck up and do her job or else I will buy this liquor store and fire her ass. But my conscience came in, and I held back. What the fuck?

Who the fuck checks that? Only thing ive seen is someone asks for ur ID to match it to the name of the card. Why the fuck wouldn't she just do that?

Easy. Lose it all and earn it back. Nothing else will give you a better appreciation. Think Michael Vick and his new $100M contract. Myself, I made 6 figures each year from 05 to 07 (not huge money but to me at the time it was). Ended up partying and drinking routinely and excessively, and then was effectively sidelined for 2 years with significant gastrointestinal problems - basically couldn't digest anything. Now the health is improved and the focus is 1000X better than it ever was, even when I was "banking". The mindset now is to make every penny I can, save whatever possible and not fuck it up.

They check over here - when you still have to sign, I haven't signed a credit card transaction for a years now.

As bodiddley says, the easiest way to not become Ryan Eagle is to get it then lose it. Campaign dies, health, litigation, divorce, whatever.

what a broke ass loser, which real baller doesn't have hundos on 'em at all times. if your card was an issue, you should have dropped some cold hard cash, broke ass nigga...

you could have told her all you wanted about buying the store and that's not the point. if you're a real baller or have any business sense at all, she's doing it for your benefit. what if your wallet got stolen and somebody went on a shopping spree? you would have liked people to not give a fuck? although checking signatures nobody does these days so that's over the top but, as I said if you have any business sense you could see where she was coming from... especially at a liquor store (most being in/near the ghetto at that) you don't think low-lifes try to pull shit there? on the flip side of the coin she's also doing it for the benefit of the business and who do you think the manager is going to go after if people are able to get away with shit because of her? maybe you should buy that liquor store and fire her and hire somebody who doesn't give a fuck and see how that goes for you.. dumbass nigga

Still the same as I always was. Money really means nothing. Rich to me means health, family and friends.

You are still the same person regardless of how much money you have. I am still the same as I was when I was going paycheck to paycheck trying to fill my gas tank.

Same here, even still cheap as fuck. People who let it go to their heads are the ones heading for the poor house in a few years or less.

I spend more, and I'm actually trying hard not to be cheap. The main reason, comfort zone.

When I focused on keeping my expenses low, my income tended to be more stagnant. When I stopped focusing on what I didn't want to spend money on, and instead, focused on just making more money, I found myself much more comfortable than I would be if I cut my expenses as low as possible.

This also raised my confidence levels a lot higher. I was taking on more than I thought I could handle, managed it, and then that challenge was something that would never intimidate me again, because now I know I can do it (and in retrospect, you always see 10 other ways you could have done it, even easier). Now I set the bar higher. Wash, rinse, repeat.
