Seriously, excluding people actually working for the government, how the hell would they create jobs. All you hear about is creating jobs is the focus blah blah blah.

Since people either own a business or work for a business, how can the government either make a business hire someone or get someone a job?

From what I see personally, it seems as though the economy has weeded out the shittiest employees in the workforce and no one wants to hire them now. Everyone I know personally that I regard as intelligent and someone I would want to hire or work with has some type of employment.

Seriously, how can a government create jobs other than actually hire people to work for itself?

The govt. can't create private jobs. It's just a false hope of the sheeple which they pander to. The fact so many people believe the govt. can create private jobs just shows how stupid most of the population is.

The government doesn't create jobs, they take them away.

Obama still doesn't understand that. I don't get how he says again and again that he "knows" exactly what we need. He fails nearly every single time. I guess because idiot freeloaders buy his shit stories.

The govt. can't and doesn't create private jobs. It's just a false hope of the sheeple which they pander to.

What? The government can help create loads of jobs, and make an economy absolutely flourish. For a good example, look at various SE Asia countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos... then look at Singapore.

They can't really create jobs at all. They can only steal jobs from the private sector and move them to public sector. Why is this? They need to take in money by taxes to create jobs, the taxes leaves less money to the private sector thus reducing the amount of jobs in the private sector. But sometimes the private sector don't create jobs with this money you say then. Then I say, true, the goverment can create jobs, USELESS jobs, because if they weren't useless then they would already exist in the private sector.

After some more thought, I know for pretty good fact that higher taxes leads to lower GDP, at least in well developed countries. This should probably make it really hard for goverments to actually create jobs. Maybe they can create 9 useless jobs for every 10 jobs they kill in the private sector or so.

How exactly are those governments creating jobs? By lowering corporate tax rates?

The only way the government can help create jobs is to decrease regulation and taxes that hinder entrepreneurs from entering the market.

This post is gold. Thank you for being another person here who understands basic economics.

You act as if the money they take is burned. It trickles back up. Whats even better is the poor 9.9/10 have to spend the money IN country.

Yup. You can put it like this. Think if you want to say go open a hot dog stand in your local downtown.

First you would need to form a corporation for protection, get a tax id, get a permit, most likely pay rent to the city, get food handlers permit, pass inspections, hire a lawyer, read in food handling laws, tax laws, learn to budget books.

That's just the start of it. Its completely unachievable by the normal person.

Then you get into needed loans to pay for all the regulation while the bank isn't lending because they are fined and regulated by the government as well. The interest rate is set so low they can't set an interest rate on what their actual risk would be to make them turn a profit.

Its goes on and on.

No, I have not.

Why the fuck would I want to be a burden on someone else's business/success?

Now that's just ignorant.

I'm not here to convince anybody, but I believe there is a happy medium in between the two ideologies. Good day sir.

Way to fire back by simply saying i'm ignorant. I could obviously make the same argument towards you.

Idiot worker welfare boy. Go mow my lawn and bring me a pizza, bitch.

Low corporate taxes is one of the ways, yep, but many others as well. Immigration law that attracts business & talent, streamlined and easy process to start a business, quality city infrastructure and mass transit, low crime rate, good health care, and many other things.

Hong Kong is another shining example of how government policy can directly spur job growth, investments, and the economy as a whole.
