I try not to read Tyler Cruz's blog but some days I can't help myself. Anyway, he was just bragging about a new forum designer he found for one of his new starcraft 2 sites, but he wouldn't reveal the name unless people paid him $25. I thought this was a pretty dick-head move. Especially when you compare it to the free exchange of ideas and tips here at wickedfire.

The funny thing is, I googled: "who designed starcraft2.net" and the result was:

Starcraft2.net - Forum Rules

Although the administrators and moderators of Starcraft2.net will attempt to keep all objectionable messages ... Custom skin designed by ForumTemplates.com ...
Starcraft2.net - Forum Rules - 19k - Cached - Similar pages - Note this

So there you have it. ForumTemplates.com. Don't give Tyler $25. Supposedly this place is so good/cheap/fast that he doesn't want people to find out about them.

I don't even design forums, but his attitude just pissed me off.

Here's what he had to say about it:

This new company I found had me on skeptical mode from the beginning. Their portfolio had some real nice stuff; if I had to compare their quality to Sheldon, I’d say they were about 85% of his skill. However, listen to this. Their turnaround time is a week or less, and their cost is rediculously low; at a couple hundred bucks.

This is the point where dozens of people start asking me who I used. Well, as stated in an earlier post, I’m going to charge $25 to simply release the name of the company I used. Why? I’m not trying to be a bastard, but finding quality freelancers whether it be for design, forum skinning, or programming, is like panning for gold. And so I’m not going to tell everybody my secret spot where all the gold is for free anymore. It will hike prices up, make turnaround times longer since there is more demand, and also give possible competition a great resource.

So, if you really want to know who I used, it’s going to cost you $25. Sorry.

What a dick move!
I could understand if it were a private designer that did select jobs but its fuckin forumtemplates...

Tyler you get more 'guru' every post.

Well it looks like he is having a bad day. I just read on his blog that he got banned from CJ.

It would have made more sense if it was actually some spectacular design, but it's not... (big yawn)

Tyler is just a kid that got lucky with his poker forum, none of his other sites are successful at all.

This just proves it again.

He didn't get banned... it was deactivated due to inactivity. They do this to everyone. You can just call them and re-activate the account or just sign-up under a new username.

I guess Tyler needed a more attention getting headline.

Great find, gonna sell this top secret info in a crap book for $7. I expect all 32 members of his great forum to sieze this once in a lifetime offer!

Left him a comment:
Guys just Google “who designed starcraft2.net” and the first result tells you that it was designed by ForumTemplates.com. Good link bait Tyler, even if you sound like a dick. I guess you’ll do anything for money, considering how every single one of your projects failed except for a poker forum.
Let's see how long it takes for him to delete it.

It might have been dumb to try and charge but if this gets picked up by a few people than it's a nice little bit of linkbait.

Tyler Cruz makes me laugh with his blog posts.

He acts like a douche bag and this resent post just show his true attitude again... Come on charging $25 to help other Internet Publishers what was he thinking. It always tries to seem like big shit.
