Obviously there is a ton of support for a Ron Paul SEO campaign. The only
problem is coming up with one main project and getting everyone to focus on this. I can't imagine the actual SEO power this forum has collectively. Not that I need to mention it, but how many tens of thousands of sites do we have collectively. Just a link on those alone is probably enough to rank for pretty much any keyword we want, not to mention SB, Xrumer, SENuke, FB Likes, and YouTube videos/links capabilities.

Another idea we can pursue is setting up a ChipIn for each project if you are not able to help. We will ultimately setup a list of projects with descriptions & setup a chipin for each project.


So rather than everyone getting really excited, but no one doing
anything, I've gotten together with another member and we've decided to hold a Skype conference.

The SOLE PURPOSE of this conference will be to decide on project #1.
Once we come to a consensus on what we want to do, I'll post the target here and we can all post what we've done towards it as a daily routine. The idea is to keep everyone motivated by posting updates of what we've done to work towards our goal.

We can have people writing some pages on the sites that we try to get viral
through social media. We have pages made for various keywords that seo
guys can pitch in to help rank. And then we make the site a really good
resource filled with information on Ron Paul and what people need to know.

Start a facebook, twitter etc. account for the site and have people help
grow the followers/fans. Have a digg/reddit account we actively submit
stories through to get viral as well as other sites like digg.

Allow for people to donate for those who want to help but not spend the
time and use the money to pay for faceook ads and ads across other sites.

Have a forum on the site and try and get people motivated in various
major cities across the US.

Youtube channel.

Etc. etc.

Main idea being if we made one main site and filled it with good content on
what people need to know to sell them on Ron Paul, then everyone can
pitch in to get that site exposure through whatever they are good at.

Some ideas already mentioned:

- Anchored links to ronpaul2012.com
- Minisites to rank for specific terms
- Community site to act as main hub to everything w/ fb, twitter, etc
- TV Ads

I would say let's make the first goal fairly small so that we get it done and gain some momentum. And once we complete it let's keep adding to it. But I would think there needs to be more to it... some type of way to get media attention. Some way to really do something different and unique. Some way to really use the power of the Internet. It would also be nice if there was a way to re-use it after the Ron Paul campaign is over. I would hate to build something only to throw it away.

I also think offline efforts could have a large impact. And I also think really knowing who to target and how to market to them is important. It would probably be best to hit the people who are Republican, pissed and somewhat unsure of what to do.

What I'll do is put together a poll with the ideas we have so far, plus whatever we come up with on the conference.

if you guys have other ideas you want me to include in the poll and don't think you'll make the call, just list them here and I'll include those as well.
 
Awesome idea. Nothing better than getting Ron Paul some first page spots in the SERPS. I'd propose minisites on each of Paul's "competitors" ex truthaboutromney.com to rank for "mitt romney" and expose them for their hypocrisy. Link the dissociated voters to Ron Paul.
 
Wouldn't it just be smarter to pool the money and run social media ads?
 
Social Media Ads are a bit of a waste of money for something like this.

I have a domain from the last election that is very memorable and I was running WPMU on it. I switched back to WP but I think it might be good to go multisite with it.

It could be a place for posting articles that are on words that people search for outside of RP fans. I was doing articles about McCain, Bush, and Obama then with a RP twist.

we need to associate him with the younger vote. People that get the Internet need to go out and vote this time.

I agree with jtgoodgame and lukep, this would be the best way to help Rand Paul imo.

Let me know about the skype convo, I would like to join in.

I think it would be good if we start a site like I talked about because then
we would have something to focus on. Pages can be made for seo, viral social
pages, informational videos to teach people about ron paul etc. People can
just pitch in however they are able to and we can have a forum on there
to discuss things.
