I've been fighting the urge to start this thread for awhile now.
I just logged on and saw my F1 thread was bumped to first. So for better or worse...

as you can see from my avatar I live near NYC and hey I'm a lifelong racer. I started street racing when I was 18. Graduated to Formula Fords and FF2000. Been to many racing schools. Advanced racing schools. Wet skid pad training. All kinds of lapping days. Won FF races in the wet and dry. Beat a national FF 2000 race winner in back to back sessions sharing the very same car (when I say beat; i fuckin killed him -- I was .4 of a second faster, my best lap to his best lap). Had my own sports psychologist who also consulted with Indy car and F1 racers. For many, many years driving better was all I contemplated.

No, I'm not bragging I just wanna establish my credentials for this.

So if anyone would like to get together for a precision driving clinic some early sunday morning, I'll help you with your driving -- free of charge and No I'm not gonna try to sell you anything, ever.

It's probably gonna be in Yonkers, NY on the streets. I'm thinking sometime early June. You have to be at least 18 and a regular driver for 2 years. Yes you need a license and No I don't want to drive your car.

I have no idea if they'll be any interest in this but I will only do it once. A maximum of 3-5 Senior members in good standing.

btw I don't know everything, nobody does. But there's a very good chance I can help you to improve your driving.

If your interested in getting together please post it here and pm me.

PS: if you are not in the area and want ask me any driving questions I'll try to answer them here.

What's your motivation for putting in all the effort? A casual placing of your hand on the driver's thigh?

Only if its you toots.

Srsly no clue -- this idea came to me about 6 weeks ago... been fighting it but alas here it is. Except perhaps this is the 1 area where I can really give back to the WF community that has taught me soo much and kept me entertained.

Think it's a good idea. Unique, for sure. Preference when it comes to MT/AT, paddles?

I'm in, but my only vehicles are a 2002 Prism and a 2006 Pontiac Montana, is that cool?

Old school here MT. But I had a few hot laps in a VW GTI with that dual clutch system in automatic mode -- wow. I think I'd get that system over the MT. I mean wow, just wow.

Some of the better (expensive) cars even execute a throttle blip on downshfifts. This gives a silky smooth transition under hard breaking and setting the car up for turn in. It doesn't upset the attitude (balance) of the car which would happen in a MT except if you heel and toe. Which I do of course -- but the computer system is quicker.

Please PM me.

Use whatever vehicle you are most comfortable driving. It literally does not matter for our purposes. For two reasons: 1) this Will not be a cowboy type, high speed event. 2) the performance capability built into any modern street car on any radial tire will astonish you -- when driven using the proper vehicle dynamic technique and eye technique.

btw I refer to all street vehicles as cars. Be they cars, suvs, pickup trucks or whatever.
