I'm no alex jones supporter, but this whole thing has been really fucking shady. If they didn't say they buried him at see so soon after the announcement I wouldn't be nearly as skeptical.

Just to play devils advocate..... I'm not a conspiracy nut.

You can't imagine a situation where we HAVE had him for years, and we need a reason to play super hard ball with Pakistan so we can take care of the extremists inside their borders?

You can't imagine that we would do something like this to cause unrest in Pakistan who is threatening to kick us out?

You can't imagine that your government/president wouldn't lie for ratings?

You can't imagine that since we are losing in Afghanistan it isn't politically feasible to say well we can leave now we've got Bin Laden? We need those resources for Libya? Or to teach Pakistan a lesson for hiding him? Or just because we can't afford the war anymore.

This is just another cycle in Obama's conspiracy maker. He likes holding back just enough information to get the conspiracies going, and then he uses his media company - NBC/MSNBC to stir up the Koolaid he's made. Then after all of the fools drink the koolaid he's dished out, he exposes their koolaid mustaches and makes fun of them.

Thankfully even the fools are starting to recognize the bitter taste of his koolaid.

Now only the killing of Osama Bin-Laden can save him and even that is doubtful.

You conspiracy lovers really, really has teh dumb. If this were a hoax, bin Laden would make a new video or audio tape proving he's alive.

Sheesh!

I don't think anyone is suggesting he's not dead are they? They are suggesting we've had him in custody for years.

Different animals - and one that is believable I'd say.

Even dumber. You guys actually believe that George "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!" Bush wouldn't trot out his #1 enemy as a prized trophy the second he got caught? George was sparing himself the glory. lulz

No, not if would have interfered with other things he wanted to accomplish.

Finding him would have took the will to continue a war that Bush felt was needed for whatever reason out of most Americans.

Again I'm not a conspiracy nut - but sounds like you do believe everything you are told. No matter that history shows you that's not usually the case.

Saddam and Sons - Trotted out in public. Sons bodies confirmed with dental, DNA, and visual witness.

Bin Laden - Most wanted man in the world. Killed, thrown into sea. Not a single shred of evidence from the government.

Sans logic of any kind, your argument is a major failboat. Nothing personal.

Good luck bro.

I'm amazed at how willing people are to believe the state. This, despite countless lies told to the populace throughout our history.

Suggesting anything other than the story posed by the state risks being dismissed as a conspiracy nut.

Sad.

Bush's "Mission Accomplished" speech was performed on MAY DAY, 2003.

The media confirmed that Hitler had been killed on MAY DAY, 1945.

The [redacted] was founded on MAY DAY, 1776.

There are three common codes for an emergency: 911, SOS and MAY DAY.

This was at least the fourth Operation named after Geronimo during the war on terror.

I bet that OBL's skull has been sitting in the [redacted], right next to Geronimo's, since 2007.

There is no logic in your argument either. You "Think" that Bush would have trotted him out. I "think" Bush would have kept him hidden so iraq, and Afghanistan could continue with out the specter of "what are we doing there?".

Come on - accepting what we are told have kept us a 10 year war that we aren't any closer to winning in the same country that broke a super power once already and looks to be on the way to doing it to us.

Do I think our politicans would do things to distract us and aren't smart enough to hold onto things to dump on us as needed?

No more than I think Clinton bombed iraq the day before his impeachment vote and continued until it was over as a distraction.

Do I think it's possible that Bush and his adminstration invaded Iraq for something other than WMD's - Yep.

Is it possible that we were to busy torturing Osama during Bushes presidency? Yep.

Can't put him in lime light if we are busy torturing - especially with all that back lash during that time frame.

Bet Bush is pissed that Obama gets the credit if it's true though :)

The reason people will continue to be skeptical *(with reason)* of us killing Osama right now is that we dumped his body at sea.

Because I'm sure all americans feel that we owed him respect and courtesy. Couldn't possibly be because there was something to hide. We obviously owe a terrorist who's beliefs we do not respect and we just killed to be sent to all those virgins waiting on him with honor.

To your point, from The Atlantic,

A senior administration told Politico's Matt Negrin that properly disposing of the body "in accordance with Islamic practice and tradition" was "something that we take very seriously, and so, therefore, this is being handled in an appropriate manner." That reinforces the point President Obama made in his speech to the world last night, when he declared "the United States is not -- and never will be -- at war with Islam."
... and...

There's disagreement among Islamic scholars as to whether the sea burial was permissible. "They can say they buried him at sea, but they cannot say they did it according to Islam," Mohammed al-Qubaisi, Dubai's grand mufti, told the Associated Press. "If the family does not want him, it's really simple in Islam: You dig up a grave anywhere, even on a remote island, you say the prayers and that's it..Sea burials are permissible for Muslims in extraordinary circumstances. This is not one of them." University of Jordan Islamic law professor Mohammed Qudah said a burial at sea is a last resort when nobody on land is willing to take the body. "It's neither true nor correct to claim that there was nobody in the Muslim world ready to receive Bin Laden's body," he said.
Those who are inclined to believe the state will say, "honest mistake."

A few of us will think, "hmmm. Fishy." and be dismissed as conspiracy nuts.

Incidentally, regarding reasons a previously-killed Osama may not have been shown to the world, here's a good read:

War Is A Racket by Smedley D. Butler

There's a lot of money at stake. Everyone knows this. Everyone willingly forgets when the issues of "patriotism, freedom, and democracy"* come up.

Let's say, for sake of argument, that the US really did go into Pakistan, kill/extract OBL's body, and bring it back into US custody.

What would you have done differently? Would you have buried OBL somewhere? If so, where? Would you have leaked pictures of his body? Given his brain to an independent lab for testing? For those who are unsure about this whole incident occurring, I'd be curious to hear how you would have actually handled the operation, instead of just saying that you don't trust the gov't and therefore something is amiss.
