So we have had a ton of shaving threads but recently I have been trying to keep a constant 5 o'clock shadow going. Some dude posted in one of the last shaving threads about a rechargeable trimmer it had shit reviews on amazon but he said it worked. I got one anyway and it was a piece of shit so I am SOL again. Ive also got a old norelco vacuum trimmer and its no where near close enough.

What do people use to trim really close?

Edit: This was the POS trimmer. [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Remington-HC600-Rechargeable-Professiol-Ceramic/dp/B003RC3ZSC/ref=pd_sbs_hpc_50"]Amazon.com: Remington HC600 Rechargeable 30 Piece Professiol Ceramic Hair Clipper Kit: Health & Personal Care[/ame]

I use to go this route all the time, but I've never found a trimmer that got close enough. I also remember that thread and the suggestion, I'm glad I never bought it. I ended up buying 2 electric trimmers and they where no where close, despite having stubble trimmer in the name.

Since I started wet DE shaving I actually found the answer. Grab a basic DE razor like the Murker 34C, plus some blades that are forgiving and not overly sharp like say a Personna red pack or Derbys. Only go 1 or 2 passes with the grain and you should end up with a pretty perfect 5 o'clock shadow. Since you're not going for a baby butt smooth shave it should only take you (once you're familiar with your routine) 10 min TOPS.

I was all over amazon earlier looking for something and it seems .2mm to .5mm in length is a good 5 o'clock look. I found a few professional trimmers with replaceable blades but they are $100+ and the blades are $25/ea.

Gonna see if I can find something cheaper before I blow $125 bucks on a trimmer that may or may not work. I would do the DE thing but the blades I have with one pass make me baby smooth. Looking for a bit longer.

This is what I use for face and head at the moment:

I just take the guard off and use it on the lowest setting. Tried with hair clippers before that but even at a 0-grade it wasn't short enough.

I like the idea of a DE razor but don't like being clean-shaven either so I might try Rage9's idea

the wahl trimmer is what i use. remove guard and hit the neck and face and youll have about a 10 o'clock shadow going on.

Could be the one

not a self promotion... but we do own stubbletrimmer.net, and the top selling stubble trimmer we've ever had is the Conair GMT900 iStubble Facial Trimmer, Gray... take it for what it is worth, but it is over 70% of all our sales.

So let me get this straight you have one product that makes 70% of your sales, but you rank it in 9th place out of 10. Just so we are clear...

Also epic bump to this topic, I am sure it had nothing to do with getting a free backlink.

Since this was my thread and all I ended up just buying the new version of the Norelco vacuum timmer. It's amazing since it vacuum's up the tiny hair "dust" as you trim keeping my sink drastically more clean than when I tried a normal timmer. Using this Remington, a bit more than a 5 o clock but works for me:

Was actually thinking of getting a proper shaver to get a little closer but considering the responses here will probably just stick with this now.

I actually have found this to be a very decent shaver. [ame=http://www.amazon.com/GA-MA-GT500-Ergonomic-Trimmer/dp/B003XEOBKU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326562277&sr=8-1]Amazon.com: GA.MA GT500 Ergonomic Trimmer: Beauty[/ame]

I havent used a razor forever because i get really nasty razor burns. I bought trimmer and after i shave you can feel the stubble slightly but not see it. Gama is a very popular and good hair products brand.
