The best fucking thing that ever happened to our country. We don't need or want the "World Cup" because we hate soccer. I couldn't think of a better country to lose it to, but to than some bullshit, middle of nowhere country as Qatar.

In order for it to be the "World Cup" all the world needs to actually give a damn. Because the US does not give a fuck it should actually be called the "Semi World Cup".
 
We took our future King, our Prime Minister and best known player to get the World Cup and we got laughed at and went out straight away. More proof IMO that the rest of the world really does hate both the UK and the USA for obvious reasons.

I know American Football is your main sport and you personally hate "Soccer" with a passion, but I'd love to see the numbers that your MLS League is pulling in these days. Oh and just to remind you, the United States took the highest number of travelling fans to the World Cup.

The United States is also the 3rd largest country in the world and one of the wealthiest, so it shouldn't surprise you that we have the people or the money to go, and some of them are bound to be soccer fans. We also send the top number of fans to the Olympics.

The saddest thing I ever herd until you realize we control most of the worlds wealth so it's not as surprising. It actually almost makes the rest of the world look like shit considering how much they love that retarded sport. STEP YOUR GAME UP!

Why did you put world rankings in quotes like that? It's based on several factors, and it doesn't surprise me one bit. It's a points system, and the PDF they link to lists the top 74 member nations. The USA hasn't won nearly as many international championships as Cuba. Our professionals don't participate in these, and not just that, many of our professionals come from other countries anyway.

Italy is ranked ahead of the Dominican Republic for the first time ever, and the Netherlands is ahead of both Canada and Mexico.

You're like the disabled school that has its' own games because the kids aren't coordinated enough to play normal sports.

Even at the Olympics you suck when you break it down on medals/population.
 
Mmm...a bit offtop but Qatar is richest (or one of them) per person (or per capita it calls) country in the world it seems (and citizens twice as rich as average american), it's full of arabian schakhs (whatever this word) and so on, so not that shitty at all:)

In addition to this statement, let's also not forget that the World Cup in '94 in the USA set and still holds the all time attendance record for this sporting event.

I'm not a Yank, but I definately would say that the Yanks support Football (Soccer). Take a look at the numbers when some premiereship teams travel to the States. Sell outs everywhere.
