Hey Guys,

Happy new year to yall!!! :xmas-smiley-016:

My name is Martin I´m 26, I work as a webdesigner since 2002 and joined Wickedfire a couple of days ago... this is my first post because til now I was reading everything that was already posted on the forums.
I am pretty new to AM with PPC I tried a couple of campaigns and was not succesfull, anyways I am not planning on giving up.

I have a couple of questions for more seasoned Affiliates out there (pretty much everyone but me), please try to be kind ! ;)

1- I tried to sign up with a couple of affiliate networks, but I feel somewhat intimidated when they ask details about my sites, what is your suggestion about this? I do have sites but, somehow I feel that none of them are "good" to submit them to the affiliate network.
In my mind, I'd like first to be accepted and then after choosing a particular offer, create a website for it.
Also if you know any good/kind affiliate manager that could guide me through or help me with choices of offers, etc i would be more than happy to isgn under your 2nd tier link...

2- I bought a domain "portfolio" of about 200 .info (I know they suck, still learning remember?) they are all finacially oriented keywords e.g. UkCarLoan.Info but I feel don´t have either the experience or the budget to start right into the Financial affiliate market. What would you do with the domains?

Well thank you all guys in advance, I've learned a lot only by reading the WF. I am pretty sure that other people have these same questions so it is great to see what you Experienced people share here.

1. Since you are a web designer by trade, why dont you make atleast one decent site that would complement one of the domains that you have? Just because you have a shitty site (in your eyes) does not mean that the network will not accept you - unless you live in fuckistan or somewhere close.

2. Build your .info domain and don't just think of it as a ppc site - there is always SEO if you don't have the budget for PPC

@Acemenace:
Thanks man, I thought about building a website on one of my domains but what do you think a good topic would be for it? just for presentation purposes... after accepted I could build new ones.
As for the domains I tried to sell a couple and it didnt work, so I´ll probably build them as you say, SEO could be complicated since the market is really competitive, dont you think?

Thanks again

.info is not in an of itself intrinsically bad... It's just been badly mishandled, and due to that, there's been a rush of scammers getting in on them for shadier purposes.

Something like UKCarLoans.info is actually quite good.
Whack up a basic CMS that you're happy with, make it pretty (again, you're a designer, so these should be pretty easy for you), and then start putting in a bit of content.
Scrape news, scrape sites that have good deals, etc.
Then show it off... It'll be a hell of a lot better than most splogs.
From there it really shouldn't be too hard to get onto some affiliate nets. Considering the topic of that particular domain, your best bet (IMO) is to start with CJ because they tend to accept pretty much anyone and they do have a lot of UK financial and insurance offers.
After you can show a decent run with one network, it's a little easier to get accepted into others as you'll have a track record and a site that you've actively worked on developing

@Harvey:

Wow, Thanks! I liked the idea of doing that to the .info sites... I hope they pick up anytime soon.
As for CJ, I have been an affiliate there for awhile but I dont really make good money out of it, After reading most of the information here on WF I realized that there are better offers than CJ, actually I have never heard of an aff manager there...

You're going to want to check out the history of the info domains since you bought them from someone .... All the SEO in the world won't do shit for a domain that's been spammed into the ground in a previous life. You might be better off just starting from scratch.

@BeVoMichael: Thanks man!

@erect: yes, I thought about this before buying the domains, they are all good, none of them is blacklisted by google, at least they were all white PR bar when I bought them, but thanks for the advice.

Hi Seoholic, welcome.
I've read your intro and it sounds as though we're pretty much in the same boat. I'm a web developer getting into PPC, and I'm at the stage of signing up to some networks, let me know how you get on.

How many times have you been dickrolled so far?

@pickledegg: LOL Way too many times man, I got tired of watching that gay .gif thing.

I'll let you know, so far I am sticking to CJ, improving some sites that IMO have potential before applying on other networks. Skype me if you want and we can keep in touch.
