I read a bit of Millionaire Fastlane. This book is quite possibly the best one in it's genre. It's definitely better than How to Get Rich by Felix Dennis and the garbage that Jordan Belfort calls a book.

Top 4 SERP in g are authority sites but the 5th result is an emd.

I added another emd so I could compare my results. The first emd will end up being an authority- ish mfa site (custom theme + onsite ). The second emd will be a regular mfa (ctr theme + 1K content + all offsite SEO).

I will be using the same methods in attempting to rank both. I still have no idea what I am doing and my end goal is a better understanding of SEO and hopefully some beer money.

Well, to be honest, I don't know jack shit about SEO (yes, I'm a fucking grommet). I know some terms and how some things work but I don't REALLY understand it. That being said I felt that $1/day was a realistic ACHIEVABLE goal. I have no misconceptions about making moniez online. It will take awhile (hence the date) and I will probably lose a ton of money (hence the shitty revenue forecast). I know that asking questions like "How long till I make moniez" or "How much can I expect to make in X days" or "How do I make moniez online quickly" are attacking the problem from the wrong angle. I understand that my revenue will reflect my understanding of SEO. Ultimately, I want to learn the material, MASTER it and come up with cool innovative shit that will bank hard (if everyone is doing it it's probably dead).

As per the hobbster's suggestion I limited the number entries to 2 a day. I chose 2 because this journal helps me with the amount of information I take in everyday. I feel that I would lose valuable insight in self reflection if I just did this at the end of the day. Like most of my generation, my will is weak and I get distracted easily. Until I learn to remember more and improve focus, this journal will act as my memory jar.

I also read Eli's SEO empire part 1. I was in the middle of reading it when he mentioned white hats and black hats. Since I was going to be working with Adsense, I figured it might be a tad bit important to see what counted as what. So I pulled up the TOS and it said:

"You shall not, and shall not authorize or encourage any third party to: (i) directly or indirectly generate queries, Referral Events, or impressions of or clicks on any Ad, Link, ..... unauthorized use of other search engine optimization services and/or software"

Well, I guess everything is blackhat according to google.

I also encountered some of the blackhat sites he mentioned when I was checking the comments on my sites. I encountered this peculiar site which had an aged domain, had no links to anywhere, wasn't emd and had no ads.

Insight: I should probably remove the comments section and replace them with disqus or facebook comments.

I think you are under-targeting your income. I do my targets based on a 30 day monthly average and a monthly total. It's hard to say you want a literal dollar a day when some days you'll make nothing and others you'll make $5. It's gotta be an average if you want to look at it like that.

It has a terrible layout (CTR theme), thin shitty content (LSI content that vaguely tells users about the kw then has 1 or 2 links to an authority site) and is filled with enough ads to give you a seizure. Think of it as a site optimized FOR adsense.

SERPS: I got tracking set up yesterday with sescout.

A: No ranking for any kw. I don't know why it's doing this. I checked site:url to see if it's indexed and it shows the last index was 3 days ago when I added content.

B: Root kw ranks 266 on G. It's +6 from yesterday. I was surprised by this since the site is basically a skeleton. It has no ads, no content just a privacy policy and a sitemap.

I have not pinged any of the sites yet.
