I just bought a domain that is probably worth a lot even though its got no pr, links, or age. Two word and emd.

However, I'm worried about copyright issues because of the keywords in the domain. In the past I've had domains as dumb as 'getsillybandz.com' get a cease and deceit. The name has "Microsoft" in the domain name.

I was thinking about developing it, but then I reconsidered with copyrights. I tried listing it on SEDO for the heck of it, even if I develop it, but SEDO won't allow the name due to 3rd party copyright.

You have a few options, you can still use the domain and actually make money with it but if you do get a C&D you can redirect the traffic to another domain so it will not be a complete waste. Maybe I am incorrect but I have seen domains on flippa with copyrighted names and ebay as well so you could probably dump it there . My thought would be to create a YT video, put that domain in the description and redirect it to your offer or use it on yahoo answers and do the same thing have a redirect.

You should consider putting up a site and selling cracked versions of their products. Advertise on craigslist and people will come.

So if Microsoft sends me a letter, I won't lose the domain isle? I thought I would have to give them the domain because they own the copyright?

Oh trust me, there's a lot of potential for this.

Also, if anyone here is really knowledgeable with this type of stuff, I'd love to PM you or IM about it.

Anything with Microsoft in it is absolutely not worth it. Just research how aggressive they are in terms of slinging their lawyers before giving you a chance.

Really? I've seen a different extension that's been ranking for the term for a few years.

Some trademarked names might be worth it but microsoft I wouldn't waste the time. I've had several experiences and at the end of the day my efforts are better spent making a legitimate site than trying to game things.

Should you really want to use it put it in russian domain registrar with chinese hosting to slow them down but if it is a .com at the end of the day they can get ownership quite easily (and you are liable for the transfer fees to them!)
