Not to step on anyones toes here but strangely enough I've been working on a very similar plugin to what was posted in this thread Design, Development & Programming - WickedFire - Affiliate Marketing Forum - Internet Marketing Webmaster SEO Forum I was going to announce in a few days and give away for free but then I seen that thread and figured why not chime in to share some ideas and pick up a few more features I'm missing.

Basically its the same general idea with much more flexability and easability on your part (Don't worry its free for wickedfire members).

Basically it will do the same auto-video blog here.

Lets list some of its features.

It has the ability to manually search and upload videos, it pulls the video and the comments, you can specify a maximum amount of comments for the video, you can specify a category to place the post into, you can place your own text under the video, & you'll never get duplicate videos.

It uses the built in wordpress cron system so you don't have to create your own, its going to give you the ability to create posts hourly or daily, with the option to create as many posts as you want daily, for the auto feature you can specify a comment range so if you don't want all the comments on your site to have 100 comments you can specify a comment range betwen 0 and 100 and it will pull however many it needs too but never the same amount.

Lets look at some preliminary screenshots of this.

This screenshot is for the manually add video section, basically what you can do with this is search as many videos as you want with the search feature and when you click on a video you will see the below screenshot.

As you can see you can preview the video, set a max number of comments to get, select a category, and add text below the video, there will also be a safe comment feature so that you can make sure swear words are not in the comments when it all gets added.

Here is the last screen of the automated section

What this will do is enable you to specify which posts to create based upon tags in which ever category you want, select a comment range, use safe commenting, ect... all in an automated fashion.

The comments get placed into your blog just as they would if someone is adding them manually with there names, ect... all filled out.

Again I'm not trying to step on anyones toes and i'm only telling everyone here about this in a new thread because this is also a free plugin and if anyone wants some more features tossed in before I give it away in the next couple days then let me know.

I think there is still a good need for these plugins and rograndom being the thread creator of Design, Development & Programming - WickedFire - Affiliate Marketing Forum - Internet Marketing Webmaster SEO Forum is more then welcome can use this plug for some additional insight into his/her own.

Oh also I forgot to mention that this whole thing runs off the YouTube API and you'll never have to sign up for your own API key, it actually doesn't require an API key.

There is zero page scraping which means that once this plugin is going the only way it will break is if wordpress changes there database structure again (Which will be a quick fix on my part to get it working again) or if YouTube shuts down there API, which I hightly doubt thats going to happen.

Let me know what you think or what other features could help you out and I'll toss them in. I'm hoping to have it done and out by the end of Tomorrow if not the end of Tuesday.

I love this. And I want this. You will be my fucking hero if you make this work well.
I will be able to whip up hundreds of sites with this...

Thats exactly why I'm building it, I'm so fucking tired of having my domains just sitting there.

I have tons of domains that I bought that never got around to developing and I noticed a small trend with a few of my autoblogs which was pulling content from Yahoo Answers.

The trend was that a few of them were making me about $10 each month and they only get 13 unique visitors per day and they are promoting fucking dating offers with a long form to fill out for me to get paid $2.35.

I remembered last year I developed something similar which worked great but it was limited because it scraped instead of using the API.

So I figured if I build this to do up a ton of niche automated video blogs, my domains which are parked making me like .30 cents per month could be boosted upto $5 or $10 a month with zero work.

Times that by the number of domains I've got and I'm looking at an easy $1K boost in income each month.

Anyway I've got to finish up this automated feature for the plug right now but I'll be back later to talk some more about the development.

I'm going to include some tagging functionality into this thing as well.

Maybe even some content filters, we will see how much time I've got to do it all.

That is exactly what I was thinking, that this will monetize my domain portfolio. Add stumble to the mix and you got at least 5$ from each domain. You are awesome. Keep working.

My thoughts exactly. I've actually been using tubepress on a few sites but this will make it so much easier.

I am anxiously awaiting the release of this. Have quite a few domains that can be put to good use.

That is damn generous of you to make it free too.

I had purchased his ProfitAdults script a while back and am looking forward to see this in action as well. Glad to see him offering up more tools again.

This sounds great. I have a couple of feature ideas:

1. Fill an (empty) blog with a set number of posts over a set date range. So you would set the following:

Date Start: [dd/mm/YYYY]
Date End: [dd/mm/YYYY]
No. Posts: [int]
Tags: [comma sep tag list]
Comments Min: [int]
Comments Max: [int]

The script would divide the total number of posts by the number of tags specified, and grab the required number of posts from the YouTube API. It would then work out the date range, and the time spread between each post. It would then make all the posts, with a number of comments in the set range.

2. Post intos/outtros. I find with splogs that an intro and outtro makes a big difference between making the post seem genuine or not. So it would be nice to be able to specify a list of intros and closings paragraphs, from which one would be randomly selected for each post. Eg:

Intros:
[An awesome video today, I'm sure you're going to love it. Check it out:]
[What am amazing video this one is. It gave me goosebumps. Check it out:]
etc

Closing paragraphs:
[Great huh? Subscribe to the feed for more of the same]
[What did you think? Let me know in the comments...]

If you don't have time to add these features in I could do so myself once you release the plugin. (It might be worth adding it to subversion on Google code?)

Cheers,

Leon

Glad to see him offering up more tools again.

Yeah I haven't had time over these last few months to take some time and tack out a few useful tools, so I figured since I'm doing this one up for my personal use, I might as well incorporate it into public use and give it to the community.

I can see some good uses for your suggestion, I just completed the automation section and its in testing as we speak, I'm going to have to work with it to make sure its working perfectly and a few more things.

Basically I won't have time (In this release anyway) to place in your first suggestion.

However I may have some time to include an intro/outro type feature you suggestion I agree with you when you say it will incorporate a little more trust into the blog, try to set it apart from all the typical splogs out there.

Lets see how much time I'm dealing with, basically I'm testing the auto-feature, making a few bug fixes and putting some final touches on it right now.

I will warn everyone now and once released though my code is not going to be pretty, its going to work just fine but if your looking through it and wondering how things work well then your most likely going to get confused.

I just don't have the time for this release to make the code source well commented and optimized for the best speed (Even though it will be quick, You'll see - (It could be quicker though lol)).

Anyway back to testing and bug fixing.

I actually have been looking for a script like this. I have been using wordtube and its such a pain in the ass.

I'm sure interested in this plugin, it would make my life easier.

keep us posted.

Ok another little update for you.

After 4 hours of fighting with the built in WP cron system, it still doesn't work even though it should, its fucked, I mean seriously everything works exactly like its supposed to but when it comes to performing the required action it doesn't do it and I know 100% the action works.

Basically the system works like this you add a hook to a function, then you start the CRON, when started it stores a value in the DB, it requires a user to visit your site after the time period, so if set to 1 hour after 1 hour it says oh ok we gotta do this, lets look up which function to call, it gets the function and performs it.

The system they have in place with the hooks and the database updating and everything works great until it gets to the function call, it just doesn't call it.

I tried everything so I sat down to think about the pro's and con's of using the WP cron system over using the one from your hosting provider and you know what there are a lot more pro's for me and you (Which I'll explain tomorrow - Closer to the release), for using your hosting providers cron job.

I'm sure in time I'll get the WP cron system to work seemlessly but for the first release of this you'll have to setup your own cron job.

Don't worry I've made it extremely easy, no real work on your part, all you need to do is login to your hosting provider, and say fire this script every (however often you want).

Anyway I'm not going to get too technical and I'm not going to fully explain this right now but I will tomorrow.

All you should know for right now is that for the first release you'll have to setup a cron job with your hosting provider, in a future release I'll have the WP cron system working seemlessly and make it so you can use whichever one is easier for you.

I am ok with manual crons. It's no big deal, other than the fact they sometimes refuse to fire :)

For the uninitiated, I can say that videos can easily bring you traffic. I have a real example, where I embedded 100 youtubes as an addition to the site, and social bookmarked them. The videos get 500 uniques a day without me doing anything, and the niche is not even popular.

This is some good shit, Aequitas.

And

(Don't worry its free for wickedfire members).
Makes it all the more sweeter.

And WTF @ N Dubz. Buncha tards =]
