Every ringtone landing page I've seen looks nearly identical, in the sense that it has buttons and says pick your carrier. Is this really the best converting landing page? Does anyone have an example of another landing page that is successful?

Rick,

How do you market that page? Natural rankings or PPC? Seems like a lot of leaks for a PPC page, but I do like the take on it.

Very cool page Rick!

I hear a lot about ringtones, and most of it is "Don't do it". Have you found them to be worthwhile or is there really too much competition?

Thanks!

to be honest its really brand new and havent done much with it yet.... but yes i have submitted it to engines blahh blahh and a lil bit of ppc....

As my 2nd affiliate venture ever, I put up one of these cookiecutter landing pages in the last month. I can't figure out how to make it profitable. Well so far I've "profited" $11.59 for about $2k worth of my time. Ha ha.

I think my main problem is that I can't figure out how to get cheap clicks to the page. I'm only getting about 10 clicks / day right now at about .20 CPC. I was getting more (223 clicks is my 1-day high) with higher bids (up to about .50) but was taking an overall loss so I scaled back.

I've put in dynamic-keyword insertion on the site in an attempt to help my Google quality score. I'm tracking nearly everything (down to the keyword level). Maybe I just don't know exactly what to do with the data so far. I don't know... I feel like I covered a lot of the bases with this and yet still can't profit. Sucks. I guess I just convinced myself it's time to adjust/test and see what happens.

hey i remember one point it was $5 a click on google for a keyword!!! sucksss alot

That's your problem, you don't seem to be running an effective PPC campaign. Your not bidding on near enough keywords. I can pull in 10 clicks a day (or a lo t more) with only one artist on MSN alone (even with MSN having no traffic).

If you are targeting thousands of artists there is no way in hell you could be getting that low of traffic.

Thanks. It's so helpful to have some idea of what the hell I'm doing wrong instead of just fumbling, testing, adjusting...
