Using that VISA Coupon on Facebook

He is - THE CACTUS!
OK, so by now we've all figured out you get an account banned for using the VISA coupon for advertising affiliate stuff, and not a small business...

Which got me thinking (and I'm going to try it this weekend), what if you create a new campaign that is for a small, local business, and use the coupon when you're submitting ads for that one, but you keep the spending limit low, say $5 a day.
So you're still getting the coupon credited to your account, AND you're helping out a small local business. I mean, who here doesn't know someone that runs a small biz, or maybe just has a coffee shop they really like and wouldn't mind throwing a few hundred browsers their way?

I'm going to quickly whack up a fake account tomorrow to test this out for one of the nightclubs I'm still involved in, and once those ads are approved, I'll move on to pimping some offers, and see if they do ok, or if the account gets slapped down again.
I figure conclusive results happen by next Friday.

I had no problem using the visa coupon on any of the 8 accounts I have setup. Just wait a few weeks or so, then use it.

If you already have an account with them, then this new one will be suspended along with your current account before you even get a chance to get an AD running.
Are you certain? I mean, my intent is to submit the coupon at the same time I'm submitting a campaign for a legitimate small business which is what it's meant to be used for.

And I have no intention at all of letting Facebook link this account to my current one. That's what proxies and hushmail accounts are for.

Quite certain. Skim though a couple threads discussing facebook coupons, and you'll notice that A LOT of people have had their accounts disabled within 24 hours.

If you plan to sign up through proxies, use hushmail and use different credit cards, then you could pull it off.

But again, so much hassle just for a free $100.

I used to follow that thread religiously... then it all got a bit same same. I may have missed it.

Anyway, different credit cards aren't much of an issue. I can buy them at 7-11 when I get my slurpee, and I'm getting a lot of those lately.
Using proxies isn't an issue thanks to the delightful 202 toolbar.
The only thing I'd need to do is setup some hush mail, which I've been meaning to do anyway.

They still give you those whacky looks for the suspicion of being a drug-dealer or into money laundering?

I dont get it... I've used the 2 visa coupons with my 2 accounts (2 credit cards), already spent those and more coupons. That was 3 weeks ago. Why would they ban you...

I was banned when i tried to open a 2nd account with a new CC and use a coupon.

OK, I tried it, and my account got banned about $45 into the coupon... So fair's fair, ROI was right... bastard... It was going swimmingly all Saturday, until I got home, and early Sunday morning the account got banned after I very quickly made some ads for a survey site.
On the bright side, I did get just shy of 300 very targeted hits for a nightclub I help out with, so I'm hoping to see a few new faces there when it's on next.
Good news is that there's no connection to my 3 other active accounts, and those haven't been touched.

Brar: Oh, one of the more inquisitive guys finally cracked and asked if I was using them to pay for drugs. I actually explained affiliate marketing to him. I don't think he understoof it entirely, but got the idea that I'm not some sort of massive criminal.
