I have to vent...
Is it just me, or has Adwords been extremely slow to review and approve image ads lately?

It has now been 1 week since I first submitted a set of new image ads for one of my adgroups - and Google still hasn't gotten around to review them. Each and every day last week I added more image ads to many other adgroups as well, and of course none of them have been reviewed. Those campaigns and adgroups I was so excited to launch are now sitting idle, and it feels like an eternity to have to wait.

I'm anxious to get these adgroups and campaigns fired up so I can get some data, and it sucks to have to wait so long for Google to get their ass in gear. Are they that far backlogged?

I tried nagging them about this on friday but only got the canned "Your ads will be reviewed shortly as we work diligently to apply the same criteria to all of our ads" in response.

About a month ago, it took around 1-2 days for image ads to get approved.

Agree.

I had a whole campaign set up with image ads and forgot about it since it took so long to approve.

Checked in the other day and had spent $200... all without me being able to tweak and test.

Shit.

Is there a way to tell they've approved them besides getting impressions? I have some I don't know if they're approved or if my bids are just too low.

That's weird I put up a single image ad 300x250 on saturday night and by sunday it was getting imps?! My image ads never seem to get the same amount as text ads though since they're not as versatile. CTR is generally better though.

your bids are too low..remember that you're competing with the combined cpc of like 3 text ads...

Yeah I considered that for a sec too, but I knew my bids were high enough.

I got off a chat with a Google rep now, and they confirmed that my ads were still under review. They apologized for the time it had taken and stated: "The ads are not running because they are still under review and not because of your bids.".

The rep then went on to say "I will escalate it right away for review and it should be done in the next couple of hours."

Lesson learned: it helps to nag. :rasta:

Santhosh K.: Please give me two more mintues. I am reviewing your ad now.
me: Alright
Santhosh K.: Thanks for waiting .
me: No problem
Santhosh K.: I am not able to pass a judgement on your ad as we are facing a delay at our end.
Santhosh K.: However, I am able to confirm that your ad will be reviewed by the end of today.
me: That's great, thanks a lot Mr. Santhosh!

Well I can sleep better now, thanks for creating this thread I&W :]
