I'll put it on a domain this weekend to test. PM if you want the URL/results in the future.

I'm going to start a new thread for McJiffy due to the bickering in the other one.

DISCLAIMER: I took a domain that a customer didn't pay for and abandoned, and stuck this script on it. The domain is
http://www.bloodsweatandtri.com

It was supposed to be his triathlon blog. It's now my example site for this product.

Ok, this one was a snap to install. Before you start, get an Ebay Developer ID, then generate your Production Keys. You'll need your APP ID from this key set.

Also important: Create your Campaign ID in Ebay Partner Net, then use that Campaign ID and create a directory of the same ID under /httpdocs/cache.

Open the default.php file locally and edit the appropriate fields. To add options like price range, remove the '//' comments before the appropriate lines.

You need to CHMOD 'cache' to 777, then go into cache and CHMOD 'keywords' and your 'campaignID' (Ex. 37737392) to 777. for some reason, I had to delete the KEYWORDS directory and recreate it before it let me 777 it.

Anywho, the site is pretty spiffy, if a little bland. Took about 20 mins total to get it up to where you see it now. I'm using a single keyword: Triathlon

I'm looking through the site. I really kind of like it. Fucking no work at all and a lot of other keywords brought in. Great product. I'd pay $100 for a premium version, for sure.

site design is kinda blah - can you customize the look and feel of the site or all the sites the same design?

@Airball: there's a /themes/default/ directory. You can write other themes.
@iamwhoiam: anyone who offers php5. I, of course, recommend the one in my sig. You'll need to set a .htaccess file to force your scripts to use php5. It's just this one line:

Code:
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5 .php

You are right! Thanks I was thinking of going to phpbay but there is some cash issue for me so I went with McJiffy. I am a newbie so it took me five hours to do and learn everything. (signing up for Ebay devel ID and Affiliate ID, buying a domain name, choosing a hosting company, pointing to the domain, setting up McJiffy). Total expenses for the year around $20.00. Anyone who can read WICKEDFIRE.COM and use computer can learn and setup this stuff. Here is the proof of concept.

@argh01
I will use them on my next project. I gotta flip more burgers at work to make more money and save up for this.
For the meantime I am using 3ix.com. I am using there basic one $1.00/month. I know I heard some negative stuff about it but it is only a proof of concept.

Now next thing to learn is how to make people visit the site and generate some cash!

Any links on how to do this?

I like it too. Extremely lightweight, unlike BANS. Plus no hard-coded formatting in its code as BANS does. CSS to your heart's content.

Downside is it's brand new and a little clunky especially in SEO and its related searches/topics feature, which should be fixed soon.

P.S: This is my first Wickedfire post AND I'm a newbie, at least in AM. Does that mean a bunch of members beat me up now to see if I can handle being in the gang?

How did you get "similar topics" and "related searches" to work. Did you have to uncomment any line for this to work?

No, you actually contributed something halfway useful/thoughtful. But then again, there are a lot of assholes on this forum (like me) so no guarantees.

Depends on your keyword I think. I think some of mine are missing related/similar links for certain categories too.

Try some keyword variations, etc.

Still scratching my head on this one! I cleared the cash. I even temporarily put "wii" which the demo version at mcjiffy.com site had related searches and similar topics showing. I am learning about the Adsense now though and just put up advertisements on it.

Can anyone click on the advertisements and see if my stats update? Google said I cannot click on it.

Thanks

The related topics/keywords works by default and yes, mine were missing in several searches too.

The problem is you can end up going from widgets to panty hose, so it can look pretty funky if you care about consistency The author is working on limiting related searches to your selected category id.

On a side note, apparently now you can use the PepperJam network for eBay instead of eBay's Partner Network. At first they announced higher commissions through PepperJam but eBay quickly slapped that down, but still I hear that with all the problems people have had since eBay switched from CJ that a lot of people are hopeful about the PepperJam/eBay route.
