Hi,

I usually stick with adsense income style sites but wanted to give an affiliate site a go.

Its dietingbooks.co.uk.

Please feel free to dump all over it...as i said its my 1st attempt at an affiliate site, so im ready to get a rough ride!

Anyway, its been live for 2 months. I have the popup domination plugin set up on the site as ive heard on this and other forums that the 'money's in the list' so wanted to get that going.

Two months in and ive not had a single person join the list!!!

HELP!!!

If i cant get this moving in the next month or so i'll get dump it and get back to earning from adsense.

Thanks

Isn't google going to kick your ass off because every single outgoing link goes to clickbank and amazon? Is all your traffic from Facebook?

(FYI I'm more newb than you so my comments are all based on my map of reality, not reality itself.)

Hi, no traffic comes from FB. Ive paid for all those 'likes' - just to give the site the appearance of credibility/popularity!

In the past 2 mths, the site has been steadily rising up the serps and is currently on pg2 (of google.co.uk) for 'diet books' (and still rising!). So basically yes, you are right - Google may kick my ass in the future but for now its doing ok.

So, any advice on how to get the list going?? Thanks

Has this happened to you? Sorry to hijack but i'm wondering if this is what happened to one of my sites, it had no outgoing links...

No outgoing links at all? Or no outgoing links that weren't affiliate links? If it had no inbound links it certainly isn't going to show up on the Google.

Also, use link cloaking [inset one of a billion free/paid cloaking redirect programs for every website and CMS ever] to help with the Googles. Or don't have a site that is has a link for every 2 words of content. If you write an article with one or two affiliate links, and it's good, cloaked or not Google doesn't care very much in my experience. It when your site is just a pure data feed site that it's easy for it to be kicked off the list.

Thanks for sharing.
